Record Boards

Yesterday’s home runs may not count in today’s game, but yesterday’s games play a huge role in defining your program’s legacy. Legacies are born from hard work, dedication and a series of defining moments in competition. Just about every classic sports movie from Hoosiers to Remember the Titans builds up to a defining moment when the athletes rally together to defy the odds. These defining moments inspire current athletes to stay hungry and accomplish seemingly impossible goals, while also setting the bar high for the athletes of tomorrow.
When it comes to goals, Michael Jordan said it best when he said, “I’m a firm believer in goal setting. Step by step. I can’t see any other way of accomplishing anything.” As a coach, helping your athletes set real, tangible goals could fall by the wayside, especially when you only see them for a couple of hours a day. However, teaching your players how to set SMART goals can bolster their performance on the field, improve their achievements in the classroom, and prepare them to set goals in life. Here are the criteria for setting SMART goals for your team this season.

We put together a handful of tips for those grueling summer months that will keep your teams ready to compete during this coming fall season.
When Washington State University Athletics reached out to us recently to design and manufacture a swimming record board for their Pac-12 program, we were excited to get started. The new record board would be housed in Gibb Pool, WSU’s main competitive pool and home of the WSU Women’s swim team.
During offseason training, coaches encourage their players to break personal and team strength records on the daily. If you’re tracking these records, it wouldn’t make sense to have a athletic record board that requires a new update to be printed every time your star player smashes a dead lift record.
