The National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI) is a Dallas, Texas based non-profit on a mission to boost student performance in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Their concern is that the United States is falling behind in these key subjects, while other countries throughout the World are surging ahead. Team Fitz Graphics recently had the opportunity to work with NMSI on banners that promote their program.
NMSI’s method is to identify successful local academic programs and scale them up to a national level. They focus on training teachers in grades 3-12 to inspire students to succeed. By recruiting and preparing college students to dedicate their careers to teaching math and science, they are attempting to change STEM education at its foundation and most basic element—teaching.
NMSI was looking for banners to give to schools that adopt their 3-year College Readiness Program. These banners will be hung in their gymnasium, auditorium or school entrance as a reminder of the school’s commitment to excellence. The banners also signal that their staff and students are a part of a national program that helps everyone rally to improve test scores and outcomes.
We recommended our poly fabric material for the project. This is our premium and most popular material for school banners. Poly Fabric banners feature sharply-printed graphics and hemmed edges for a clean finish. They also offer a nice weight and durability making them a great choice for banners that will be displayed for a long period of time.
