When looking at a Track Record Board for your program, one of the most overlooked features is how easy it is to update at the end of a season. Too often, we work with client who purchased or built their own record board years ago, but now have trouble updating it, or when they do update it, the new records do not match the old ones.We know the pride that you have in your program and we view it as our job to reflect that pride and excitement through our great looking record boards.

We know that in order for it to good in the long run, you need an easy and dependable way to update it. The most frequent questions we receive when working with clients is “How will I update the board when record get broken?”  Below, we describe each type of Track Record Board we offer and briefly describe how each one is updated.

SLIDE-IN RECORD BOARDS

Slide-In Record Boards are our nicest and most popular option. These boards are for indoor use only and look great in an athletic hallway, gym lobby or locker room. Each one of these boards is produced with a layer of PVC as a base and then a layer of acrylic on top. A thin channel is created between the layers that allow a thin custom printed plastic strip to be inserted into the slot. The record slides all the way into the slot and finishes flush with the outside edge of the board. Because most of the graphics are on the outside of the acrylic and the records are behind the acrylic, a layered effect is created adding depth to the entire piece.

When a record is broken, contact Team Fitz Graphics and we will produce a new record strip and mail it out to you. To remove the old record, insert the sticky edge of a post-it note into the slot. The old record strip sticks to the post-it note and easily slides out. Simply insert the new record and you record board has been updated. The same colors, fonts and materials are used each time, so any new records will be identical to the old records keeping your board looking it’s best.

LAID-VINYL RECORD BOARDS

Laid-Vinyl Record Boards are the perfect option when looking for something for an all-weather outdoor option. They can also be used indoors if you are looking for a less expensive option than the Slide-In Record Board. This board is constructed with a study background layer of outdoor-grade aluminum or indoor-use PVC. The graphics are the applied to the face of the board.

The records are all individually printed, adhesive-backed vinyl strips similar to stickers. All the initial record strips will be applied prior to delivery of your board. When a record is broken, we will print a new strip and send it out to you. The new record strip is installed directly over top of the old record. This process ensures that the new record will be square and straight. Once again, the same materials, fonts and colors are used as the original, so new records match the older ones exactly. Installing these new record strips is a very easy process that our customers around the country execute regularly.

VELCRO-PANEL BOARDS

Velcro-Panel Boards are our largest and easiest boards to update. Typically, we recommend this type of board to customers looking for a record board that is 8’x8’ or larger. Our Velcro-Panel Boards come in outdoor or indoor versions and look great from all the way across a gym or track. These boards are constructed with the background graphics applied to an outdoor-grade aluminum or indoor-use PVC material. Industrial-grade Velcro strips are then applied to the face of the graphics where each of the record panels easily attaches.

Each record panel is made of PVC and has the complementary Velcro material on the back to easily attach to the face of the board. Enough material is used to ensure that none of the records fall of or get knocked off over time. When a new record panel is needed, you will contact us, and we will produce the new record panel. The old record panel is easily removed and the new panel is easily installed into the correct position where the old record was. Once again, the same materials, fonts and colors are used for the new record panels, so any future updates always match.

Typically, we recommend updating your record board once a year at the end of the season. If you have an athlete that breaks the record early in the year, it makes sense to wait until the end of the year just in case they break it again later in the season. We always make it a priority to get updates produced and sent out immediately so that athletes have a chance to see their new records as soon as possible. No matter which type of board you choose, you will have the ability to easily and affordably update your track records year.
