Picture Boards that display individual athlete and team photos are a popular addition in an athletic department. 1. What is a picture board?
Picture boards are large signs with mounted acrylic picture frames that can be used to display team, athlete, and staff pictures. The photos can be easily inserted and removed from the picture frames so the images can be changed as often or as little as you like.
Chances are, your school has access to a wide range of individual and team photos. Picture Boards give you a great place to display these photos and to recognize individuals in a way that will get noticed. Each board is custom designed to include your school logo, colors, and content.
2. What are picture boards use for?
Picture boards are most commonly used to display photos of teams, staff, or other outstanding individuals. One of the most popular uses we see is to display the different clubs and athletic teams each season.
You can use a picture board to display any pictures you want. Some more unique uses we have produced boards for having been to display images of recent events, military member recognition, or alumni performing in outstanding ways outside school
3. What size photos can be used?
Team Fitz custom designs and manufactures their picture boards. As a result, they can be built to accommodate any size picture. The most common sizes requested are the typical photograph sizes such as 3”x5”, 4”x6”, 5”x7”, and 8”x10”. Multiple photo sizes and orientations can be used on the same board. 4. How large are your picture boards?
The most common sizes for our picture boards are 4’x4’, 6’x4’, 8’x4’, and 10’x5’, but any custom size can be built. The final size of the piece is typically determined by how many photos you want to display and the size of those pictures. This is usually where the conversation starts. From there, our design team can make a recommendation when they draft the initial design concept.
Some clients prefer more of a plaque-style design where multiple separate frames are arranged under a header sign. This is often used for team photos where the wall space is limited or for a hall of fame display where individuals are added each year. Our sales reps will work with you to come up with a solution that makes the most sense for your needs.
5. How are the photos removed or changed?
Many of our clients like our picture boards because of their ability to easily update and change photos as needed. Often students, award winners, or teams change each season which necessitates picture updates.
Most picture boards are built so the pictures fit flush with top of the frames. To remove a photo, simply insert the sticky side of a post-it note and press the frame to adhere the note to the photo. The photo can then be easily pulled out and replaced. This tamper-resistant design is popular with Athletic Directors because these boards are often displayed in high-traffic areas. Our laser-cut acrylic frames can also be cut with a thumb notch if you prefer.
