In working with athletic record boards we have found that the most unique boards we design and manufacture are swimming and diving record boards. They can be made in many different sizes and often time incorporate several sets of records including separate pool records, team records and sometimes even swimming records separated out by age group for youth swim clubs. Below is an explanation of the various swim record board options to help you determine which type is right for your swimming and diving program.

Slide-In Record Boards

Slide In Record Boards are our most popular style of record board. These boards feature rec

ords that slide into channels behind a crystal-clear acrylic face. The construction of these boards make them extremely easy to update; the records simply slide in and out. This style of record board is best suited for displaying in a hallway or lobby where the viewing distance is less than 20 feet. This board style is not well suited for a pool or natatorium environment as condensation may develop behind the acrylic face. One other possible drawback for this style o

f record board is often times swim teams want to display multiple sets of records. For example, if you just want to display one set of boys and girls records this board is perfect. If you want to display boys and girls records for both the pool and all-time, you may want to choose another option such as the Natatorium Record Board discussed below.

Laid-Vinyl Record Boards

Laid Vinyl Record Boards are also very popular and are well suited for any environment including a natatorium, gym, hallway and even outside. This style record board can be formatted to fit any record keeping need that you have. Multiple sets of records can be kept on the board, so this is perfect for youth swim teams that keep multiple age group records. This type of board also features a simple update process. The primary drawback for this School Record Board is viewing distance. The typical approximate viewing distance is 15 feet, although the more records displayed on the board the smaller the text size will get. Therefore, this type of record board needs to be installed in areas where people can easily walk up to the board for viewing.

Natatorium Record Boards

If you are looking for a huge impact and the most visually striking option, take a look at the  Natatorium Record Board. While fully custom, these boards typically start at about 12′ x 8′ and can be made as large as needed. Our 25′ x 10′ size is very common choice for all levels of swim club, high school and university swim teams. Natatorium record boards can be formatted to fit any set of records whether it be for a youth agegroup record board or a swim team record board displaying both pool and all-time records. These boards are very easy to update. Record panels are attached to the face of the board utilizing an industrial-strength Velcro system. These boards are built to meet whatever viewing distance you require so they are perfect for viewing across a large natatorium. The materials used are also selected specifically to stand up to the rigors of the hot and humid pool environment.

These are three of the top swim record board options available. Always consult with your record board provider on what type of record board is best for you.
