Branding is important, no matter the business or organization. Even a school district and high school needs to have its own brand. A community should support the local high school, even if not all residents have students in the school system. In order to raise brand awareness throughout the district though, a school needs more than just a sign in the front of the property with the school name and upcoming events listed. While the budget for branding a high school is likely small, all that is needed are a few items properly placed around your school campus.

BOULEVARD BANNERS

These banners are what you might see attached to street lamps or electrical and phone polls. Schools can start by having branded boulevard banners placed around the campus including the parking lot, outdoor athletic venues and along the street.

FEATHER FLAGS

These are sail-like flags inserted into the ground. They are typically shaped like an oversized feather or teardrop. These flags can be displayed anywhere and are great at the entrance to parking lots, along athletic pathways leading to stadiums and to identify a team tent at an away event. School colors and logo can be placed on the sail flags and installed around the high school. Before a big game the flags can come out to welcome those attending the game. Local business owners might also be up to having such a flag paced in front of their shop if they want to show support for the team. Many of the local business owners likely went to the high school, so they have their own school spirit already.

WINDSCREEN BANNERS

Billboard advertising is a great way to call attention to a specific message. It also requires a monthly rental fee. Windscreen banners work in a similar way, only these are placed over fencing, such as the fence around a football stadium, tennis courts, in the outfield of a baseball field or really anywhere there is a chain link fence. The banner is a mesh-like material, so wind blows right through it, yet it still adds exceptional appeal to any fence while promoting the school in a big way.
